Upcoming Exhibition “Pipes of Anxiety”

On May 25th for 1 week my artwork and the artwork of my fellow degree friends will go on display at Barnsley Glassworks! This is the degree final show so is going to be a big one!

My piece is called "Pipes of Anxiety" and it represents my fears as an autistic individual. I fear alot of seeming unusual things and one thing that really scares me is large industrial machines, they dont have to be turned on just there and im afraid of them. What if they make a noise? What if its loud? Its the anticipation of what could or will happen with these pipes.

Written upon "Pipes of Anxiety" are diary entries from times ive found challenging from the time i left Batley School of Art to the letter i wrote to my great grandma who had passed away, to panic attacks, anxiety attacks and sensory difficulties. Parts of the writing has been covered up to hide more sensitive bits.

I want to say a massive Thank You to Shelly and Stuart at Phoenix Studios in Anglesy for helping make some ambient sounds for the pipes sculpture. If you want to check them out here is their website: https://phoenixstudiosmon.co.uk/
